Analyzing Batman-The Dark Knight&The website: Why so serious?

http://www.whysoserious.com/
The similarity between the website and the poster is that they are both are related to the joker. He is the main character being shown to the audience. Its all to do with him on the website and in the poster its him again. Both the poster and the website are ways of promoting the movie-Batman The Dark Knight.
However when first entering the website it's not clear what the whole point is as it doesn't actually say anything about the movie Its takes couple of seconds to make you realize, what and why the reasons are for some of the things that have been put on there.
The website; As you enter the website the first thing you hear is 'Thsi is a GCN Traffic Update' and you hear the rest of the news, which could  connote that its somewhere alot of crime happens. This connotes a bank robbery, which is mentioned. The first thing that grabs the viewers attention is the To Do List in the middle of the page. One of the things written on there is 'Make fun of the Batman' this gives the readers hints about what this website is, and about who...it also tells you that this is from the joker, because who else is Batman's biggest enemy? The joker. Which later on makes you realize that this website is from the Joker's perspective and kind of put into comedy style layout, the words written everywhere makes you realize this, but you realize faster if you're a fan of the series and have previous knowledge about the characters and the movie itself. It has been set out as a table, and has files, documents and pictures. There is one of the batman but you can tell it has been messed with because his face has been coloured in 'joker style' i.e the black eyes and the red lipstick.

The Poster: The poster looks as if it might have been hand created, just not the typography bit, 'The Dark Knight' has been made bold and Sharp, this could be to grab attention but it doesn't seem as if that was the makers real target because I think this poster was directed to people that are already familiar to Batman from the previous movie. Also it just says the Dark Knight, new viewers would think what/who is that. But after they would figure out because within the text written from the words 'HAHAHAHAH' is the Batman logo, the bat. The poster doesn't give any details about the movie, so it just keeps you curious, especially where it says 'its simple kill the batman' it makes you think the hero always wins, will this be any different, and will the joker succeed in his plan? There is a medium close up of the batman in the middle, but you can tell that it has been made out of cards. Around that there are cards which have jokers of them, seeing as all the jokers are on the outskitrts of the picture and the batman is in the middle this could mean that the joker is being taken over by the joker, it seems if it were a moving pictures then the joker cards would cover up the Batman's face slowly.
Bat mans face has also been messed with similarly to the one on the website, he has lipstick/blood smudged around his lips, and on the side there is a scalpel and then you realize his smile has been stretched with it and the red bits are meant to represent blood. The cut hasn't touched his lips, and just beside his nose, it says 'why so serious' which could represent him trying to cheer things up in his own way. On his head it says 'its all part of the plan' meaning kill batman?? This poster is also from the Joker's perspective, if I haven't mentioned it before, its like a teaser, the target audience would be for kids around; 14-20 because nearly everyone around that age likes the movie, and would be well informed about the joker and the movie, to get what the poster is about, and trying oto say. Lastly; jokers are always part of a pack of cards; and cards are used to play games, which could mean that Joker's tricks are all part of a game in his mind.

TV Advert Analysing

http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA0001

This is an Advert for the AA Team. I think that this advert achieved its hope for bringing in as many viewers as possible, though I dont know its statistics. The reason why I think it could have been so successful is that; it included bits where some parts that are quite curious making. for example in the beginning there is singing and you see lots of men, in yellow florecent jackets and stereotypically women are seen as the people that sing (in most times) so you want to see what could be described as commostion is about. alonside that you want to see why there are so many men all in one place, but then you find out when at some point in the middle you have a long shot of the text ""AA"" on one of the mens jacket...

The advert uses mostly Long shots, however in some places there are birds eye views because there are just so many people. The target audience could be anyone from the ages 18-39 because at 18 you can get your drivers licence and after 39 you're just too old anyway I cant imagine old people getting stuck somewhere and calling the AA. In addition the Mise en sene changes frequently though at all times it's set outide not in a studio. The Denotation of the AA on the jacket could be that, the reason why it wasn't shown bigger or before could be that when you see the broken car and the steam then straight after that people in yellow you sort of have an idea whether it could be a car company or not, because they are well know, for their yellowy-ness.
