Analysing Adverts
Skoda Fabia-Mean Green
Shot 1: 0.0
This shot shows a long shot of a tv where you see the logo of a car (Skoda) in make. Slowly music starts to build up which is sort of rock and metal. Finally the camera zooms out and moves swiftly the next scene this builds emotion in the viewers mind and makes them a bit anxious to see what's going to happen next.
Shot 2: 0.07
Shows man with a fury hat and horns maybe made out of bone to give the expression that the person is
maybe hard hearted and angry. He's also holding a newer version of a bow and arrow and the next thing
you see is the arrow being shot out to the switch of the tv to turn it off. The camera soon pans out to
two vultures standing on a structure of a car. this is in a Mid shot view.
Shot 3: 0.23
This shot is in medium long shot view, it shows a man with arms made out of metal and you see that he's doing something to do with a car tyre maybe sharpening it. And soon you realize the meaning of the whole advert and begin to see where the previous scene came from and why. meanwhile you hear the roar of a car and the music gets louder. This is 'Raindrops on Roses' but in a rock version. Its made suited to the product.
Shot 4: 0.28
This shot uses a medium long shot and shows two men one of whom was in the previous advert but this time they used him to show the link through the old to the new. The jelly in his hand also helps the viewers recall how it was before, they are trying to ptove that before it was softer and a nicer sort of advert but know it is 'meaner' and more rocky.
Shot 5: 0.38
This shot also uses a medium long shot and it shows a man painting the model car, although his way of doing so is quite mechanical and has a technical side to it. which is basically the overview of the whole advert. it also shows a contrast to the previous advert, which was slightly soft, gentle and slow where as this advert is completley on the contrasted side. This shot also shows the view of a new car, which is also mechanically done. This links to the man himself. This is one of my favourite shot's as I think there was a great choice of contrast.
Shot 6: 0.46
Finnaly, I think this is one of the best shots I could have possibley have picked as it has a diffrent side to it than all the other ones. One of the reason being is that it has a birds eye view which none of the other ones have. also it shows the car from the birds eye view for only a few seconds which if you see the advert again it's one of those shots you focus on more, if you're a car lover. This is because you want to see the finished product but only get a glimpse of it. Which is good, that keeps the viewer hooked.
